Members are the heart of our company. The Member Advisory
Committee is the forum to share their unique perspectives and experiences as enrollees, family members, or advocates. Memberscan present concerns they hear and advocate for the rights of all enrollees. The mission of the committee is to help South Country Health Alliance respond to the needs of its members. Why should I get involved?

In order for South Country to be the best health plan it can be,
we need to know what works for our members and what doesn’t. Your experience can help us understand the challenges you meet in your local health care setting. By advocating for yourself, you are also helping others like you. You will share experiences with othe committee members from different counties and perhaps develop
new aquaintences and friends.

How much of my time is required?

The time you’ll spend varies depending on how active your
involvement is. The Member Advisory Committee elects its own leaders and sets its own agenda. Normally the committee meets once every other month, and often there are specific topics to discuss. The meetings are scheduled at a time and location that works best for those involved. South Country reimburses you the cost of child care and mileage. Lunch is often provided at the meetings.

Will I really make a difference?

Whatever form your involvement might take, you’ll definitely make a
difference if you join. South Country is committed to our members.
We want to give you every chance to participate in how your health
care works. Your experience and assistance help us make sure we are
doing what is needed and doing it right.
